Tuk Tuks
A well known form of transport of Thailand and Bangkok, the Tuk Tuk is a popular form of transport in and around around Bangkok. Doing a similar job to the taxi, a tuk-tuk is a motorized rickshaw and are popular amongst tourists for their novelty and experience. Tuk Tuks are small open aired taxis and are occasionally faster than taxis in heavy traffic, as weaving in and out of traffic is easier.
Fares are always negotiable and it is sometimes possible to bargain Tuk Tuks drivers down to less than the taxi flagfall of 35bht. The initial price they quote is likely to be well over the going rate, but it’s easy to bargain it down to a more reasonable one that you and the driver are happy with. So it is essential that you agree on a price before getting in as Tuk Tuk drivers will try to squeeze you for more than what the ride is worth. So for sure act cool and play with them and enjoy the little barter of price, as you will need to do in most places in
Bangkok.
Since you’re in Thailand, you might as well try a ride on the Tuk Tuk, just for the experience.
