How to improve the quality of life in Senegal

Hitu, a complicated economy

Hitu is an Island located at the end of the Cassamance Brook in the Region of Cassamance. It has roughly 1000 folk. There is , of course, no electricity or running water, as in most of the hamlets of the country.

In this island there were no primary school, which suggested that youngsters were out of college in his early years, and therefore, it was very tricky for them to enter higher school. There are no digital marketing plans for this area even for calling for aids that could help to improve the quality of live of the populations in this area.

Improving the knowledge

With the purpose of improving the day-to-day lives of the inhabitants of the islands of Hitu it's required to build the structure needed for an elementary school and, on the other hand, to work the public awareness to foster care children to college.

The organisation Yakaar Africa will supply enough material to build the school. This attempts to involve the people and to demonstrate that enhancements are also in their hands. Another type of work will try to get the assistance of the government to provide college teacher and finally awareness of the people, as already discussed.

The initiative is going to be follows-up by partners in Senegal, in coordination with delegates of different groups of folk. With the development of this school this non profit organisation aims to promote cultural development in the town to the new generation better educated may face further improvements in the hamlet.

Good perspectives

Today the highschool is a fact in Hitu and the government of Senegal has involved sending 2 teachers who teach nearly 40 kids from 3 to 5 years living on the island. Step by step education will give a new future to their economy, improving the rent and increasing life levels.
